The smaller the file size, the faster the download and display. You should optimize the color palette of a GIF file. CyD GIF Studio Pro may compress the file. That makes for an audience that is happy and involved rather than bored and waiting for the download.
Five methods of optimization are available to you:
- The optimization of the number of colors
(it might be possible to reduce this number)
- The optimization of a palette
(by accumulating each frame palette into one global palette)
- Optimization of the frame
(removes repeating parts of the staff)
- "Magic optimize" from the Optimize menu
(can clean away superfluous and invisible data)
- "Optimize global color map" from the "Optimize" menu (optimizes the quantity of colors of a global palette).
Optimize colors:
. The fewer the colors in an image, the better it will compress, and when all the frames compress better, an animation file can shrink significantly in size.

Unfortunately, as colors are taken away, the image quality tends to degrade. Some experimentation will show you that most 256-color images can be reduced to 128 colors or less without noticeably degrading in quality.
Specifically, dithering sometimes enhances the image quality when there are fewer colors to choose from, but it also usually hurts the file size. You can select 4 Dithering mode: "Nearest color", "Floyd steinberg", "Stuck", "Sierra".

The goal with palette reduction is to find a balance between effective compression and image quality.
The optimization of a palette
(by accumulating each frame palette into one global palette). Can reduce file size by both saving on palette storage and by making frame reduction more likely. Removing local palette may affect the frame images, so three options are offered. The colors of all the frames are analyzed and a new global palette that best captures all the colors is built. All frames are then remapped to this new palettes.
Optimization of the frame
(removes repeating parts of the frame). Frame reduction takes advantage of image data that is repeated between frame. Removing this repeated image data, frames can be made smaller.
